The main agenda item for the evening was the presentation of the results of the BTCA Survey follow-up. Ron Thorpe reported on 49 responses out of the 150 surveys that were sent.

4. With specific concerns about vehicles speeding on the roadways, property owners indicated a desire to work with developers to develop bike trails/hiking trails on the interior, in an effort to avoid accidents.
5. Concerning covenant violations by property owners, 50% felt the developers should deal with it; 50% felt a group of homeowners should look for violations and report them.

Steve Perry volunteered to head a committee to work with Scott Porter, golf pro at The Bull, to develop a process whereby Boone’s Trace property owners would receive discounted rates for golfing. Eric Stamper and Roy Hines suggested we organize a community cleanup so that trash is controlled and managed. Bill Jayne reported on a meeting that he and several other residents had with a naturalist to get ideas for a trails/preserve area. He wants to organize a committee to begin work on a conservation plan.

The next meeting of the Boone’s Trace Civic Association will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at 7 pm. We’ll meet in the Meeting Room at the Bull.. All property owners are invited to the meeting. We will elect officers for the coming year, and review past and upcoming activities. The Civic Association was formed to plan activities that will enable us to build community. Come meet some of your neighbors and see how you can make a contribution.

The Boone’s Trace Civic Association hosted a Boo Bash at The Bull Clubhouse on the Saturday before Halloween. It was a great evening for meeting neighbors to enjoy food, fellowship, music, and dancing. All enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the upper deck, and we thank Brenda Phillips and Liane Hinch for their efforts in organizing the function.

The annual meeting of the Boone’s Trace Property Owners Association was held in November. See the Developers’ Corner on page 3 of this issue for more information about the meeting.
