Text Box: In Memory of
Ralph Kinder
Text Box: On October 25, the Boone’s Trace community lost a dear neighbor when Ralph Kinder was tragically killed in an accident in Lexington. We offer our most sincere condolences to his family. Many contributed to a memorial for Ralph, and his family asked that we publish the following expression of their gratitude.

To our wonderful friends in Boone’s Trace,

We are so honored and overwhelmed with the tree planted in Ralph’s memory. What a wonderful tribute. Thank you!! We are very blessed to be in such a loving neighborhood. You have brought us so much comfort during this tragic time. Thank your for all the love and support.

Mandy, Ryan, and Ashley Kinder

Text Box: The annual meeting of the Boone’s Trace Property Owners Association was held at The Bull Clubhouse on Tuesday evening, November 25. Items of business were as follows:
1.	Election of Directors
2.	Amendments to Covenants (to be explained more fully in a separate mailing)
a.	The number of pets was eliminated and tied to nuisance
b.	Amendment requirement for all ATVs, Gators, snowmobiles, mini bikes, trail bikes, etc. to remain on individuals’ own private property (not on right-of-ways, private lots, or undeveloped property).
c.	Amendment to add all new developed sections
3.	Discussion of liens for delinquent or non-payment of fees
4.	Discussion on attaining cable service; the developer explained direction to take.
5.	Report from Property Owners Relationship and Enforcement Committee

Other news: The barbeque grill at the Recreation Complex has been completed and is available for use by all property owners. The tennis courts remain open all year long. Please remember that property owners must be present when recreational facilities are used by guests that do not belong to the Boone’s Trace Property Owners Association.

Reminder: Speeding and traffic safety is a concern that has been expressed by a number of residents. All residents are asked to abide by the stop signs and speed limits. It sets a good example for those that don’t live here. Please report to the security guards (vehicle type and license number) any violations by non-residents so an effort may be made to restrict future admittance to Boone’s Trace.

We are accepting volunteers for the 2004 Property Owners’ Relationship and Enforcement Committee. Please call Mike Tremblay at 626-9680.

Boone’s Trace LLC expresses appreciation to all property owners who assisted throughout the year in channeling information to the Board. The Boone’s Trace Civic Association provided valuable assistance in a variety of ways. The BTCA Strategic Directions Committee coordinated the two survey questionnaires, and follow-up discussions were held at two BTCA quarterly meetings during 2003. The Relationship and Enforcement Committee was particularly helpful in dealing with issues relating to the Covenants. Thanks to all who contributed by responding to the surveys and attending the discussion meetings.

Have a safe and happy holiday!!

Text Box: Did you know …the bridge between Fayette and Madison County at Clay’s Ferry has been widened three times.

The first bridge was constructed between 1941 and 1946 at a cost of $1.4 million. In 1963, a second span was built to enable the bridge to carry I-75 traffic. In 1995, as part of the I-75 widening, work began on building a third span between the two others. The three spans were connected to form today’s six-lane bridge.

The bridge is named for Green Clay, who in 1798 bought a ferry there that had been built in 1792. The “old bridge” on County Road 2328 was built in 1869 to replace the original ferry. It was a privately owned toll bridge until 1929, when it was purchased by the state. It was renovated in 2002.
