Text Box: Holiday Cookie Exchange & Open House

Sunday, December 18, 3-5 pm
Text Box: Gail Arrambide and Betty Huxel, along with Gail’s daughters Nicole and Veronica, are hosting an Open House on Sunday, December 18, from 3-5 pm, for Boone’s Tracers to get to know each other. You’re invited to bring your children (all ages!) and/or your parents. The event will be at the Arrambide’s home at 111 Gleneagles.

We’ll serve the wassail, and we ask you to bring the cookies (or candy, brownies, etc.) ready to put on the refreshment table. Each family is asked to bring 4 dozen cookies. One dozen is for the refreshment table, and the other 3 dozen should be packaged in bundles of 4 per package. Just wrap them in plastic wrap and tie with a ribbon. You’ll bring 9 packages and take home 9 other packages of your choosing!

Gail and Betty would like to get a head count for preparing the wassail. Please call either of them with your RSVP before noon on Saturday, December 17. Leave a message with your name and how many will be with you.

Call Gail at 624-7134 or Betty at 624-2569.
We hope you can join us!

Text Box: The Boone's Trace Halloween Party on Oct. 30 was superb fun for the kids and a work of wonder for the parents of those happy kids! I think I can speak for all of the parents in saying that we greatly appreciate all of the planning, dedication and hard work it took to pull that off and marvel at the organization skills of all who were involved. The crafts were clever and appropriate and the well-planned and cooperative teamwork made each transition move smoothly. Amie Hawkins stated that next year a plan would be to have a similar party on the Halloween Saturday, followed by hay-wagon (and golf-cart!) convoy for trick-or-treating, which many of us think is a fantastic plan! We look forward to that and to all of the neighborhood gatherings to come.

Thank you again to the dedicated and tireless workers who give us all these great opportunities to get to know one another and support our growing neighborhood.

With appreciation,
Diane and David Shafran

Text Box: Report from River Run submitted by Don Cassidy

More than 40 neighbors and friends in River Run Townhomes gathered at Barbara and Joe Romine’s lovely home for the first annual Oktoberfest. Barbara Romine, committee chair for the River Run Townhome Owners Association (RRTOA) Social Committee, planned the event with the help of ten committee members. Dinner and dancing (polkas) were to take place on the commons area but were moved inside due to thunderstorms.

Don Cassidy, president of the RRTOA, greeted the guests selling chances on a 50/50 raffle to raise funds for the association. Bob and Diane Kinz won the drawing and donated their half of the pot back to the RRTOA. The proceeds of the raffle will be used by the Landscape Committee to enhance the entrance to the neighborhood. Thanks to the Kinzs for their generosity!

The offerings at the potluck, featuring Pam Cassidy’s sauerbraten, rivaled the menu of the Hoffbrahaus. Joe Romine grilled bratwursts which were complimented by a variety of side dishes including potato salad, sauerkraut, and dumplings, to name a few, and a wide selection of German beers and wine. Vinetta Clark’s German chocolate cake, fruit tarts, and Missy Gorman’s homemade ginger snaps topped off the dinner. Members of the RRTOA extend our thanks to the Romines for their gracious hospitality.
