Text Box: Community News Text Box: The Boone’s Trace Civic Association (formerly known as the Social Club) met on January 8. Considerable time was spent discussing By-Laws for the group. A draft of the proposed By-Laws, published for your consideration on page 2 of this issue, will be presented for adoption at the next meeting of the group. Officers for 2003 were elected as follows: Chairperson: George Huxel; Vice Chair: Eric Stamper; Treasurer: Jeff Metze; Secretary: Karen Bates; and Historian: Becki Owens. Thanks were expressed to those who served as Social Club officers during 2002. They were Chairperson: Lisa Parke; Vice Chair: Alise Heemstra; Treasurer: Jeff Metze; and Secretary: George Huxel. Committees have been established to facilitate activities of the Association. Persons listed below have agreed to chair these committees, and volunteers are encouraged to serve on these committees. In addition to voting on the By-Laws, activities for the upcoming year will be discussed. Kent Clark, Madison County Judge Executive and Boone’s Trace Property Owner, has agreed to attend the meeting to discuss Madison County happenings. A Red Cross CPR class will be held at the Recreation Complex on Saturday morning, May 17 from 9:00 to 1:00. The class is open for ages 14 and older, and the cost is $35 per person.
