Text Box: The quarterly meeting of Boone’s Trace Civic Association was held at 7 pm on Monday, February 25, 2005. Originally scheduled for January, it was postponed due to inclement weather. BTCA President Eric Stamper called the meeting to order. Secretary Karen Bates read minutes of the previous meeting. Officers for 2005 were elected as follows:
President Amie Hawkins	625-7820
Vice President	Jeff Violette	626-7992
Treasurer Jeff Metze	625-5045
Secretary Karen Dickens	624-9939

KK Trott informed the group that Adelphia has announced Stage One approval for cable at Boone’s Trace. Gary Neeley said he spoke to the Property Management Company about the possibility of paying maintenance fees by credit card or electronic autopay. He was told that could be arranged if enough property owners agree to use this service. A list of interested property owners was started at the meeting. If you wish to add your name, go to the Sales Office to sign the list.

The spring meeting of BTCA will be held at 7pm on Monday, April 25. Robert Trott, general manager of Adelphia and a Boone’s Trace resident, will be present to answer any questions that property owners have about installation of cable at Boone’s Trace. Social and civic activities will be discussed at the meeting.

An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Recreation Complex on Saturday, March 26, from 1-3 pm for neighborhood kids. This is pending good weather (not too cold or raining). Amie Hawkins and her helpers will hide Easter Eggs for the children on Saturday morning. If you plan to take your children, please take some goodies such as candy, cupcakes and/or drinks to contribute for the refreshment table. The Civic Association will provide the Easter Eggs for the hunt, and plates, napkins, etc for the refreshment table. If you wish to help Amie with the event, call her at 625-7820.

The Board of Directors of BTPOA has sanctioned five committees to assist in the transition of the Board from Boone’s Trace LLC to the property owners. One of these, the Covenants and Restrictions Committee, was actually sanctioned by the Board at the annual meeting in November 2002. This committee was formulated by the Board to provide oversight on the property use restrictions and the collection of assessments, commonly referred to as maintenance fees, and it has been functioning in an advisory capacity to the Board since January 2003. The newly amended Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (fourth revision) has been recorded by the attorney, and the document is available at the Sales Office. This information will also be available on your website, boonestrace.org.

The Restrictions Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Sales Office above The Bull Golf Club. If you have specific issues that you wish the Committee to investigate, please attend the meeting or send a letter with detailed information (address on page 3).

There have been numerous complaints regarding dogs roaming free in the neighborhood. Article IV # 4 says: “ … Animals which are permitted to roam free ... shall be removed upon request of the Association; if the Owner fails to honor such request, the pet may be removed by the Association.  …  Dogs at all times when they are outside a Lot shall be confined on a leash, held by and under the physical control of a responsible person.” Without accurate information about the Owner of dogs that roam free, the Committee is unable to take action. We encourage concerned property owners to make every effort to report an accurate description of the dog and its owner when reporting a concern. We also remind residents that they can call the Madison County Animal Control Department for assistance in removing a dog from their property. Most importantly, however, we encourage all Property Owners to abide by the covenants and keep your dogs confined on a leash as specified in the Covenants.
